My co-worker Mark Van Buren snapped these shots just before 6 p.m. Friday. People were lining up at the AT&T store on U.S. 74 to be the first in the county to get their hands on the new iPhone.

I am the courts and government reporter for the Shelby Star. Previously, I covered government for the News-Topic in Lenoir, NC. In 2004, I graduated with a B.A. in Journalism from Columbia Union College in Takoma Park, MD. During my time in college, I was editor of the student newspaper, The Columbia Journal.
