Shelby Council Agenda 8-21

Shelby City Council returns to action Monday night after a month long break. (Last meeting was canceled). There are several interesting items on the agenda. Here are a few:


1.) Consideration of a resolution of support for the North Carolina Department of Transportation to evaluate and design the potential relocation of a portion of Earl Road: Resolution No. 82-2006.

2.) Dedication of framed print entitled, "In God We Trust", given by Janet Berry to the City of Shelby and Sarah Vanhoy in memory of Chief Charlie Vanhoy.

3.) Consideration of a resolution in support of the State of North Carolina’s acquisition of Chimney Rock Park: Resolution No. 78-2006.

4.) Consideration of a resolution honoring Roland B. Hamrick on the occasion of his retirement from employment: Resolution No. 76-2006. This item appears on the consent agenda. No official ceremony is on the agenda.
